immersion: Drama and dance

IMMERSION/dance and drama

In term 3 week 7 we did immersion and my group did drama and dance. the first section we had was learning about dance and with the movement around it, we also watched some videos of people dancing, and after we watched the videos we had to say things about it like why they were dancing and what type of dance they where doing. then we had to make a freeze frame of what ever we wonted to. that was all with Jess, but we had two more sections.

section two: this section we did drama and dance again but we had it with Jess and Sarah, Sarah was here to teach us students about dance because her daughter do dance so she know a little about dance.
we kinda did the same thing as the first section. but this time we had to make another freeze frame but we had to have some movement and words in it,

section 3: we just did with Jess this time, this was probably the funniest section because we got to make a poem come to life, we got to choose our own one with a group of five, I choose one where there 2 people were having a fight of who is your best friend and then there was a narrater and then the other two (one of them were me) had to just be in the background doing stuff like a movie, were not the main charters. well that's what I did in immersion/drama and dance.

Projects. (Term 3 to term 3 week end of 4

Projects

At the start I was struggling a bit to find a project, I ask Nicole for help then after a bit I found a project (rocketology). Then I was trying to find a buddy to do this with, I ended
Up doing the project by myself, to be honest, it was essayer doing on my own. Over time I found a question to do and that was helping me with all my research. Then we started to have some
workshops with Nicole to help us with science fair projects and been getting follow ups that I already have done, like write my hypotheses from all my research, I got that for a follow up but
I had already don it so I think i'm doing pretty good with my project and i'm not getting distracted when I do it. Now I think that i'm doing the best out of everyone cause it's better to work by yourself.
when I got to the stage where we had to do a project plan I just zoomed through it, then i went to go do some more research on my question, then i had a workshop on summarizing my research,
Then we were asked to write a hypothesis with all our research and our questions. We had another  workshop and now we are getting ready for my fair testing. I thought I was ready for fair testing, but i wasn't because I didn't have all my things for my project. After I got all my things I did some testing. Attempt 1: tried with a bottle with the cap on but it didn’t work cause the cap wouldn’t pop off so it just fizzed inside. X 3 Attempt 2: did the same thing cause I thought it was just a coincidence, but it fails again. Attempt 3: I tried a different cup thing that had a hole so I covered it up with siler tape, but then the cap wouldn’t come off. X2 Attempt 4: this time I’m using a cork because it can pop off easily
when i use it, it all came out. X 2. After all, my testing and research and everything else, then finally  it flu i cried in joy cause i took 11 attempts at this. I struggled with some things at the start, but at the end i finally got there.

BURNING OXYGEN: immersion

Burning Oxygen
For Immersion
Today, 06/06/17 we did an experiment on burning oxygen. We went into the science room
and got some candles and watch the fire and the candle, while we were doing that we had to sketch
the candle while it was burning so that we notice because (notice) is our goal in Nicoles immersion
groupe. After we sketch the candles, four times in different time then we went back into LC5.
So we got 4 different size cups and four of the same size cups, we lit the candles and then put them under each of the cups and then time'd them, the biggest cup time was 11:40 secs before the oxygen stoped, the medium one was 8:58, the small one time was 8:92, and the tiny one was 4:71.

Instructions if you want to do this:

What you need:
-Four different size cups, glass ones.
-Four small candles all the same size that fit under the cup.
STEPS

  • STEP 1: get the timers ready.
  • STEP 2: get the candles lit.
  • STEP 3: put the cups over the candles upside down.
  • STEP 4: start the timer as soon as the cup is over.

The science behind the technique

spherification starts with dissolving sodium alginate and calcium lactate (sometimes called calcium chloride) in two separate liquids (one flavor and one normal liquid). The flavor one like eating flavor. Once the two are well dispersed in their respective liquids they are left to settle for a period to allow any trapped gases to be released, otherwise there will bubbles in the sphere. The next step is to take the flavoured solution using measuring spoons - and carefully squeeze drops of it into the water-based solution. The drops will instantaneously from a gel-coating once the two liquids come into contact. They are then left to 'cook' in the water-based solution; the length of time will depend on the desired thickness of the spheres membrane. Next the drops are removed and rinsed in a plain water-bath to remove excess calcium, which may inhibit
the flavour. At this point the point the drops are ready to be served.

SOCCER

my teams soccer day

on the 23/05/17 me Arman,  Callan,  Aidan,
Cohen, Liam J, Josiah, Eoghain, Josh, Aman,
David M,Myer U, Dan,  Went to huapai and
played soccer. before we played soccer though
we had to what 40 minutes cause other people
where playing first already. We went to Jayden
to get a soccer ball and then practice some of our
passing a skills. after like 20 minutes we went and
watched some of the other teams play so we know if there hard or not. when we got on to our first game we were very nervous and shivering cause they looked hard and there goal keeper looked like 15. The ref blu the whistle and we where off. on our last we played the best 3-1 to us we tied two and lost one is well but we still had fun that day.

Chemical reaction

Was it a physical or chemical reaction and how do you know?

It is a chemical reaction because the chemical reactions can’t reverse, but physical reactions can reverse… for example ice can turn into water and water can turn into ice also steam can turn into water because they are still all water. But for chemical reactions. For example, when you put all the things to make a chemical reaction you can’t reverse all the things that you did cause there's so many different things that it confused it.
